Makarska Riviera

Makarska is located in the central part of the Adriatic coast of Croatia, between the cities of Split and Dubrovnik. Makarska, capital of the "Makarska Riviera" is considered one of the best resorts on the entire Croatian coast. Two mountainous promontory up to 1762 meters, reliably protect the bay from storms. Therefore, in the Bay of Makarska there are no high waves and strong winds.
The city is divided into two bays by Cape St. Peter. Resort area, beaches, hotels and shops along the beach promenade Marineta are located in western Bay. In eastern bay is the port and marinas.

What is worth seeing?

The most attractive place for tourists - a quay-promenade, which stretches for 1.5 km below the patterned shade of pine trees, where there are numerous restaurants and clubs. With the inviting green lawns above the sea, in a noble frame of dark branches, offering stunning views of the bay, playing with all the colors of turquoise. This promenade goes further in some towns - Krvavitsa, Bratush, Promajna, Baska Voda and Brela to what he and is interesting for hiking and biking.

The climate in Makarska is very mild. The number of sunny days on the Makarska Riviera are more than anywhere else in Croatia, and the beaches are considered among the best on the Croatian coast. It is easy and convenient to visit Split (60 km), Trogir (80 km), Shibenie (160 km), Dubrovnik (150 km), Krka National Park (210 km) from the town of Makarska.
However, the main pride of Makarska is the beaches that stretch along the perimeter of the coastline. They are considered ones of the best beaches in Croatia. There is also a wide range of water sports, everyone will you find something interesting. Due to its favorable geographical location, you can easily visit Dubrovnik and Split, and to get to Sumartin by the ferry.
